The Bonham
The Bonham is classic elegance and charm. The facilities have had transitions throughout the years (even was a maternity residence at one time), and now it welcomes visitors from all over the world. The street is close to many attractions, for example, heading to Edinburgh Castle is around fifteen to twenty-minute walk, and the neighborhoods are so pretty. The breakfast is excellent. The one thing we'll point out is that the hotel had a 'lift' (elevator) problem. The floors are steep (the first floor alone is fifty-five-BIG-steps), so our room was ninety-nine-steps up to the fourth floor. Good workout ! What was impressive was watching their dedicated staff place three (3) of our fifty-pound suitcases on their shoulders and hoisting them up the four floors. They were positive and genuinely sweet as they accomplished this task. The owners gave us a few drinks, "on-the-house," to help us with our stair workout, and we considerate and kind. Photos are the views from our fourth-floor hotel room and Edinburgh Castle.

A beautiful period property, oozing charm and sophistication from its many original features. The hotel is perfectly located in the West End district of Edinburgh, close to cafes and bars and within 15 minutes walk of the main tourist sites. It's also well placed for the Stockbridge district with its many attractive streets, crescents and cafes/restaurants and cosy pubs. Ours was an elegant twin-bedded room with a fabulous picture window overlooking the green. Bathroom products and tea/coffee facilities were beyond expectation and very good quality. Friendly, professional staff added a great finishing touch!

Helen

Everything. The customer service was outstanding. The Gentleman who was at reception is amazing , helpful, polite, knowledgeable, went beyond expectations. Tye breakfast wow beautiful presentation and so much value for money. Love the little treats left on the bed eg chocolate and biscuits. Also on arrival at the hotel the mincepies and water with lemon was very nice. Definitely going to tell others and would stay at the Bonham again and again. The staff in the breakfast area are so helpful and polite and one could tell that they love what they do. The hot chocolate is a must have.

The epitomy of elegance. Can't rate this hotel highly enough. Everything about our stay was perfect, from our room upgrade from superior to deluxe, the excellent service from all staff and the quiet location.A leisuely stroll to shopping areas of George Street and Princes Street. Plenty of cafe bistros, array of eateries and bars.Bus stops aplenty less than 5 minutes walk from hotel.Highly recommend eating at No. 35, food is devine. Not far from the many attractions if you wish to walk.Royal mile took us about 25 minutes at a very leisurely pace.A perfect couple of nights.

Amanda

Everything about the hotel was fabulous from the minute we got there the staff were so attentive from opening the door on arrival to carrying bags on our departure. The room was beautiful with coffee machine, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and chocolates on the pillow. Great bathroom with a powerful shower, plenty of toiletries and bath robes and slippers. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice both hot and cold food available. We stayed for 3 nights but mid week so were unable to try the restaurant which gives us a perfect excuse to go back again. .
