The Bonham

The Bonham is classic elegance and charm. The facilities have had transitions throughout the years (even was a maternity residence at one time), and now it welcomes visitors from all over the world. The street is close to many attractions, for example, heading to Edinburgh Castle is around fifteen to twenty-minute walk, and the neighborhoods are so pretty. The breakfast is excellent. The one thing we'll point out is that the hotel had a 'lift' (elevator) problem. The floors are steep (the first floor alone is fifty-five-BIG-steps), so our room was ninety-nine-steps up to the fourth floor. Good workout ! What was impressive was watching their dedicated staff place three (3) of our fifty-pound suitcases on their shoulders and hoisting them up the four floors. They were positive and genuinely sweet as they accomplished this task. The owners gave us a few drinks, "on-the-house," to help us with our stair workout, and we considerate and kind. From the moment we arrived at the hotel i was impressed by the building and the welcome we received. The public areas of the hotel and room itself were decorated in a very classy style and the hotel was immaculate in terms of presentation and cleanliness. We only had breakfast at the the hotel on 2 days but the menu choice was excellent and the quality of the food was first class.

Beautiful property, comfy beds. Our room was really lovely and overlooked the city. The staff were amazing and spoilt my husband as it was his 70th birthday. We had birthday balloons, chocolates and a glass of bubbly from staff! Breakfast was lovely too, really yummy and in beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful. Absolutely stunning hotel. Also within easy reach of the centre and surrounding area. Perfect location as it was away from the hustle and bustle so it was quiet but then you coujd get to everything with a 10 minute walk! Perfect!

The breakfast at The Bonham was excellent everything you could want and the Staff were exceptionally helpful to your needs. The location was a little bit away from Princes Street, but this was good, but you need to be fairly fit to keep walking. Having said that the Taxi service was exceptional and VFM. Our room was beautiful and the building was amazing, so much history.

The epitomy of elegance. Can't rate this hotel highly enough. Everything about our stay was perfect, from our room upgrade from superior to deluxe, the excellent service from all staff and the quiet location.A leisuely stroll to shopping areas of George Street and Princes Street. Plenty of cafe bistros, array of eateries and bars.Bus stops aplenty less than 5 minutes walk from hotel.Highly recommend eating at No. 35, food is devine. Not far from the many attractions if you wish to walk.Royal mile took us about 25 minutes at a very leisurely pace.A perfect couple of nights.
